Canadian Power of Attorney

You are giving your Attorneys considerable power. There may be some specific things that you would prefer your Attorneys did not do.

There can be many restrictions you may want to place on your Attorneys. You may wish to prevent your Attorneys from selling a particular piece of real estate. Or you may wish to limit how much your Attorneys may spend while renovating a particular property.

Simple Administration
Most mandataries are given simple administration. Your mandatary will require authorization from you to perform certain significant actions. He or she will be required to act with the aim of safeguarding and maintaining the value of your property and make presumed sound investments.
Full Administration
Your mandatary will have powers of full administration: this means they must not only safeguard your assets but if possible, ensure that they grow and increase in value. He or she may decide to loan, sell or mortgage your property or modify it and to make presumed sound investments from your assets without your authorization.
